TO GREEN WAVES
We still vividly remember our own”firsts”: the first whitewater roller, the first takeoff, the first heavy wipeout… That feeling of gliding down a wave for the very first time is something you never forget!
Getting there takes patience, stamina, and time. You’ll need to bring the first two, but we’re here to help you speed up the progress! In our surf courses, we prioritize quality, safety, and fun, with a maximum of 8 students per coach.
You can fully rely on our qualified surf instructors. All of them hold international licenses and bring years of experience to the water. Lessons are conducted on soft-top boards (foamies) and include a comprehensive introduction as well as a theory session.
Whether you’re a total beginner, an intermediate, or an experienced surfer – we have the right coach for everyone!
Beginner 1
It’s your very first time on a surfboard.
Advanced Beginner
You’ve stood on a board before, but you currently only feel confident surfing in the whitewater.
Intermediate :
You can paddle out to the lineup and catch the occasional green wave (as long as the swell isn't too big).

2 options are available to you
10 hours/week, i.e. 5 Surf sessions of 1,5 hours plus intro and theory at €195
18 hours/week, or 9 Surf sessions of 1,5 hours plus intro and theory for €360, perfect for improvement.
Once a week, our surf camp organizes a theoretical group course that covers everything: from the formation of waves to the importance of natural elements for our surf sessions, including the understanding of tides, the rules and good attitudes of surfing. surfing, among other important information.

Obviously, surfing is the number 1 activity within our Atlantic Surf Lodge. Whether you’re a beginner or intermediate surfer, taking lessons or just surfing on your own with your own or rental equipment, we do everything we can to make your surfing experience the best it can be.

The Brazilian started surfing at 15 and has turned his passion into his profession more than twenty years ago. His mission? Getting everyone the wave of their life!
What does your typical day at the Lodge look like?
Great breakfast, good people, preparing for the surf, lots of surf, happy hour at the beach before dinner!
What is the best part of your job?
Spending an entire day at the ocean and finishing a day of work at the same place that I call my “happy hour place”.
What is the greatest challenge?
Teaching each surfer according to its own characteristics and goals.
What is the most important lesson you teach your students?
That self-awareness directly and indirectly leads to the development of surf skills!
Do you still find enough time to surf yourself?
Of course! Before and after the courses.

Equipment
We have a wide range of rental boards of all sizes and quality: from beginner’s Softboards to a range of hardboards, including the Lightboards Testcenter and high-end shapes from our local shaper partner Surfin Estate.
Our comfortable wetsuits are from the internationally known brand Ocean & Earth and will keep you warm during your session.
Free Surf
The Atlantic Surf Lodge is perfectly located for freesurfers:
Vieux Boucau, on the southern coast of Landes, has quality beach breaks but can also be a good starting point for exploring more hidden spots in the north, or in fifteen minutes by car, the world-famous breaks of Seignosse and Hossegor.
Uli and his team have lived here for several years and will be happy to give you insider tips on the perfect waves, secret spots and will probably accompany you!

In addition to beginner and intermediate surf courses, our surfcamp also offers individual surf coaching.
Thanks to specific training and exercises you will work on positioning, timing, gliding and maneuvers. This will take your surfing to the next level!
How to become a surf coach
In collaboration with Austrian Surfing, the Lodge is proud to hold the surf instructor courses for ISA level 1 and 2 as well as the international equivalent of the BNSSA (NARS Life Saving).
Whether you are a practiced swimmer, lifeguard at sea, or a passionate surfer in search of professionalization, we prepare you for the certification tests to unlock your next adventures.
