By car
The town of Vieux-Boucau is located about 750 km from Paris, 150 km from Bordeaux, 300 km from Toulouse, 50 km from Bayonne, and 35 km from Dax. Remember to organize your carpooling with Bla Bla Car You can also consult the German Facebook page Mitsurfbörse or Surftravellers .
By bus
A cheap and convenient option is to jump on one of the Surf Express buses to Vieux-Boucau: All information on the surf express website.
Attention, no French cities served !!!
By plane
Biarritz airport is the nearest airport. You can flight from London with Easyjet (direct flight on Saturdays at 9.35am) . At Bordeaux (airlines: Air France, Volotea… ) and Bilbao airport (airlines: Lufthansa or choose from discount airlines such as Vueling etc ) you will find plenty of rental car offers at low prices.
New in 2024: Airport Tramway- Bordeaux St Jean station: Tram lines A & C
duration 35min – every 10 minutes
From the station to the airport:
Take Tram line C in the direction of “Parc des Expositions / Gare de Blanquefort” Change to tramway line A at the “Porte de Bourgogne” stop – Direction MÉRIGNAC Aéroport / LE HAILLAN Rostand
From the airport to the train station:
Take Tram A towards “LA GARDETTE BASSENS CARBON BLANC / FLOIRAC Dravemont” Change for Tram C at the “Porte de Bourgogne” stop towards “VILLENAVE Pyrénées”.

By train
The closest railway station is in Dax. Good deals can be found in advance and lines on the SNCF website or all the good deals on Trainline. Hurry up !

Transfers
To make your journey to Atlantic Surf Lodge as smooth and stress-free as possible, we work closely with our trusted partner, West Coast Transfers, who operates the majority of our transfer services throughout the season.
They offer reliable and flexible shuttle services between Bordeaux Airport, Biarritz Airport, Dax train station, and the lodge in Vieux-Boucau.
Shared Transfers (Saturdays Only)
Shared transfer services are currently scheduled every Saturday from 27th June 2026 until 5th September 2026.
This remains the easiest and most convenient way to reach the lodge, and we strongly recommend booking your transfer directly with West Coast Transfers as early as possible.
From Dax train station, several transfer times are available throughout the day, making it an excellent option if you are arriving by train. If direct airport shuttles are unavailable or do not fit your schedule, taking a train to Dax is often the best alternative.
Outside of the Shared Transfer Dates
For travel dates outside the regular Saturday shared transfer period, West Coast Transfers currently offers several alternative options:
- Waitlist / Additional Shared Transfers
Depending on demand, extra shared transfer dates may be added during the season. Guests are encouraged to regularly check the West Coast Transfers website for updates. - Private Transfer with Cost-Sharing Option
Guests can book a private transfer and choose to have the journey published online, allowing other travellers to join and share the cost. - Fully Private Transfer
A completely private transfer service is also available for guests who prefer maximum flexibility and comfort.
Important Travel Information
We encourage all guests to plan their travel according to the West Coast Transfers schedule and to allow extra time for possible delays.
Transfers must depart on time, but in case of unexpected delays, the West Coast Transfers team will always do their best to accommodate guests on the next available shuttle, subject to availability.

Atlantic Surf Lodge can exceptionally assist with transfers when no suitable solution is available. Our own transfer service operates throughout the season on all days of the week and is intended as a backup option when needed.
