Take your time and give yourself the gift of going away on a yoga and surf retreat. Let the retreat guide you from your daily routine right into your heart and into the flow of nature. Relax with yoga, surf the Atlantic and enjoy a stroll along the Atlantic coast enjoying a healthy sea breeze. Join the Wild Naturebliss Yoga- and Surf retreat France with Doris Lilienweiss of Yogapoint Arnhem. During yoga classes you will practice yoga poses (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama) and meditation. Surf as much as you like, rejuvenate yourself and enjoy the wideness of the Atlantic Ocean and the adjoining pine forests along the landscape.
Once a day we practice together Yoga in Anusara® or Yin Yoga style. The timing of the yoga class depends on the ideal surfing conditions, so we flow with the tides of the ocean and tune into the rhythm of nature. The yoga will support you in your surf experience. If you think about surfing traits like flexibility, balance and agility come in mind. Yoga support these qualities and opens up areas like shoulders back and hips helping you to become a better surfer. Also you can get known new insights improving your current yoga style. We welcome beginners and advanced yogis as well as accomplished surfers or you are taking your first wave. During the yoga practice variations are given so that beginner as well advanced practitioner find themselves inclass. Classes are taught in the lodges own yoga shala, garden or at the beach. There is no class on Tuesday giving more time for a longer trip in the area.
Get your wave and connect with the heart of the ocean. Learning how to surf is an intense and a fun experience. Once you stand on the board for the first time it’s a real kick. The teachers of Atlantic Surf are very experienced as well as passionate. Courses are focussed on learning quickly and having fun in the process. Theory is taken seriously as it helps you understand and learn faster. Security comes first and beginning surfers always use soft boards. The surfing is optional and as such not included in the retreat price. At Atlantic Surf Lodge you can book a complete course, get some refresher lessons or just rent a board and wetsuit.

The timing of the yoga class will be adapted to the best timing for surfing which mainly depends on high and low tide, meaning you may also start the day with yoga and go surfing later on. Either way there will be enough time to do whatever you want and enjoy your stay. The surrounding is ideal for hikes and trips by bicycle. You can visit Hossegor, Biaritz or even Bordeaux by car. In April/May the average maximum temperature is 20 °C, the minimum temperature being about 10 °C and the temperature of the Atlantic surf lying around 15 °C.
Doris Lilienweiss of Yogapoint Arnhem
Doris teaches yoga classes, workshops and Yoga Teacher Trainings in the Netherlands and Germany since 2005. In her passion for yoga and her search for spiritual development she followed many international yoga teacher trainings and workshops, amongst others in Berlin where she lived for seventeen years. Since 2015 Doris is an Anusara® inspired yoga teacher emphasising alignments and tantric/ayurvedic philosophy. Doris is an E-RYT® 200 registered yoga teacher. She teaches Anusara, Vinyasa, Hatha and Yin style classes in her own Yogapoint studio in Arnhem, the Netherlands, which she founded in 2016. Her teaching language is English, Dutch as well as German. And off course Doris loves to listen to the sound of the ocean and surfing her waves.
We also have a slack line, indoor skates, skate boards, table tennis, games, books and magazines. A cycling path that connects the coastal villages runs just along the lodge. You can make hikes through the pine forests, typical for the Landes area. Nearby you will find a skate park, tennis, basketball, volleyball and golf courts. There is also mini golf and off course you can play the French game of jeu-de-boules. Don’t forget to watch the beautiful Atlantic sunsets! On Tuesday you can plan a longer trip. On this day we will not have a yoga class.
We start the day with an extensive breakfast buffet with tasty fresh baguettes, coffee, tea, eggs, cheese, marmalade, honey, chocolate crème, muesli, yoghurt, fruit, vegetables, guacamole, hummus and more. You prepare your own lunch, for example a healthy baguette and some fruit. For dinner we always have a warm meal accompanied by fresh salads and home-made desserts. We will have a BBQ once. It’s possible to pre-order a vegetarian or vegan menu.
